This push broom came from an abundance of western red cedar in my shop. One issue I’ve always had with push brooms is how heavy they are. Admittedly, this is partly for stability, but in smaller shops, such bulky brooms aren’t very useful.
This push broom is designed for sweeping mid-size to small shops. It’s large enough to provide the satisfying, plow-like efficiency of a push broom, but small enough (and light enough) to be maneuverable in tight spaces.
The round handle includes a textured, square-edged section, which I find grips well when using the broom with one hand.
Hand made and finished in Portland. Each sweeping head contains 70 individually wrapped bundles of tampico, arrayed in two rows, to give the sweeping head a lovely stiffness.
Dimensions: 62”L x 18”W
